Absolutely loved our stay at Hotel MX Más Centro. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel smug for booking so well – right in the thick of things, with public transport on your doorstep, enough food options to challenge your intestinal fortitude, and walking access to some of the city’s most gorgeous, chaotic, and culturally drenched sights. The building itself is fascinating – a beautifully reimagined space with character, history, and just enough quirk to feel boutique without veering into pretentious art hotel territory. Think clean lines, lush pockets of greenery, and hidden corners that make you want to wander and linger. Staff were warm and helpful, the room was comfortable, and the vibe? Relaxed, well-designed, and very CDMX. The only downside? A bit of noise at night—nothing horrendous, just part of the ambient soundtrack of a city that doesn’t really sleep (and frankly, doesn’t want you to either). Pack earplugs and lean in. Worth it. Would absolutely stay again.

The highlight was being rescued by Maximiliano, the wonderful chap on Reception, who ordered us an Uber taxi to the airport, on his own phone's Uber a/c, when our mobile had been irreparably broken an hour before. A far cheaper alternative than hailing a pink cab outside. This was all sorted with ease by Maximiliano and it allowed us to catch our plane in good time. The hotel itself was really good value for the Superior Suite we had booked. We had room 209 which was very large and had a balcony (and a kitchen as well) which was quite quiet despite facing onto the road two floors below. The breakfasts on the roof terrace were good and, fortunately, the weather was good (albeit cold at 8am!) each morning. The hotel is very well placed in the historic part of town. The wifi had a strong signal and allowed us to easily check emails and listen to Radio Caroline's internet broadcasts.

Breakfast was 150 pesos per person, which is quite a bit pricier than seeking your own food. But I must say that it was quite tasty and nutritious; there was a selection of fresh fruits, meats, potatoes, frijoles, milk, and orange juice. Along with cereal and coffee. And I love the room we stayed in; it was huge! For ~200 USD per night elsewhere in North America, I would never expect a nicely furnished room that can comfortably accommodate 4-5 people. There is just so much space. The hotel is also very, very close to Plaza de la Constitución; a 5 min walk at most. Therefore there is easy access to festivities and subway entrances on the plaza. Last but not least, while the staff may or may not speak fluent English, all the folks that I interacted with were friendly, patient, and helpful. I appreciate their service manning the 24-hr front desk.

Perfect location in walking distance to all relevant destinations in the historic center of town (and there are many!). Historic building renovated nicely to meet all needs (suite including pantry kitchen). Great decorations inside the whole building for the Dia de los Muertos holiday. A pleasure to start the day on the especially nice roof terrace with good breakfast included! Uber car service easily available at all times including transfer to the airport.

Ambience and aesthetics are great. Location in everything, worth it even just for this. Just a few steps from El Zocalo, Templo Mayor, and commercial area. I appreciated the 24hr free coffee. Generally, the staff are nice and polite, specifically Marcellano (if I remember his name correctly) who made an effort to ask if I needed help with bags and who was warm, welcoming, and even wished me a good return trip when I left.
